Translation, can you help?

Post by fastcarjunkie »

Please help me with the translation to english of the following video (as detailed as possible). It's about 9 minutes long. Please, it's somehow important. Thanks.

9 minutes of translation ... Sorry mate, I've got better things to do : )

Basically:
1) Streetracing is a "problem" (true in a sense - but then let's see some municipality build a f*cking track in the Stockholm region!)
2) Streetracing is dangerous (depends - but not really true)
3) Streetraces take no security measures to keep spectators safe (not true)
4) Streetracers have no control over their cars (not true)
5) There has been ongoing discussions about building a track for over 30 years - pretty much without any shred of hope yet
6) Apparently some police officers have felt so threatened by the spectators at the races that they've had to unholster their weapons
7) Spectators are usually the ones crashing into eachother - not racers. To my knowledge it hasn't happened during one of the big races - yet

Seems like it's preety much the same as here. It's a bit worse here I think.

Anyway, please tell me then what rights do the Police have if they come when people are racing. I mean effectively racing not preparing an so on. And, can they record cars/licence plates when they patrol around gatherings?

The police never intervene during the races, meaning they never try to
stop the cars once the race is on - but afterwards they give chase and
try to find the starter.
During preparation all they can do is show up and wait until the race car
is on its way to the race since (pretty much all) the racecars in Birka Cup
aren't street legal. Like you see in the video the police tend to film cars/
license plates - but I'm not sure what they use it for. Some say it's for
tickets since you're not allowed to park on motorways.

Different law there I think. Here they made the laws as a compilation of the most restrictive conditions found in all european laws.

How is street racing punished there?
Here you can get between 3 months and 2 years in jail if you get caught racing.
